The Nippon Communication Foundation was honored to welcome Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Dr. Ghazi Faisal S. Binzagr at our Tokyo office on June 14, 2024. The ambassador, who assumed his post in May of this year, met with foundation president Akasaka Kiyotaka and discussed Japan-Saudi ties, among other topics. Ambassador Binzagr stressed the significance of fostering cultural and human exchange between Japan and Saudi Arabia, noting the growing number of Saudis visiting Japan and expressing hope that more Japanese will travel to Saudi Arabia to experience the culture, natural beauty, and other attractions of the kingdom. He showed deep interest in Nippon.com and asked questions about the characteristics of each of the website’s languages, the content production process, and ways the Arabic site utilizes social media to engage with readers. Next year marks the seventieth anniversary of Japan-Saudi relations, something Ambassador Binzagr said he hopes will be highlighted at the Saudi pavilion at Osaka Expo 2025.
